چکیده
Abstract Background Few studies examine differences in neurodevelopmental outcomes between spontaneous preterm birth (sPTB) and those additionally complicated by prelabour rupture of membranes (PPROM). Objectives This prospective cohort study from the Canadian Neonatal Follow-Up Network compared mortality (Bayley-III scores <70 <85, hearing/vision loss cerebral palsy) at 18-24 months corrected age following PPROM versus sPTB among infants <29 weeks gestation born 2010-2018. Secondarily, this with lasting 1-7 days, >7days, sPTB. Design/Methods Differences maternal-infant characteristics neonatal morbidities were assessed Chi-square Student t-tests. Raw adjusted odds ratios (OR) 95% CIs calculated to compare outcomes. Results Study population included 4271 children, 1503 (35%) PPROM, 2768 (65%) The group had younger mothers, a higher proportion maternal nulliparity, hypertension, outborn infants. In period, neonates lower rates ROP severe neurologic injury. OR comparing vs. showed decreased (OR: 0.75[0.65, 0.87]), total palsy 0.57 [0.41, 0.80]) (Table 1). Conclusion Among gestation, days associated non-ambulatory when Such findings may be explained heightened maternal/fetal care cases. RESULTS Table1 Comparisons exposure groups.

Primary Genital Herpes Simplex Virus Type I in Preterm Prelabour Rupture of Membranes at 30 Weeks' Gestation
Background. Disseminated herpes simplex virus (HSV) in the neonate is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Current guidelines recommend caesarean in third-trimester maternal primary genital HSV outbreaks to prevent transmission from mother to fetus. In the premature fetus, however, expectant management is often necessary to reduce morbidity of prematurity. The benefit of perform...
متن کاملDelivery of a baby with severe combined immunodeficiency at 31 weeks gestation following an extreme preterm prelabour spontaneous rupture of the membranes: a case report
INTRODUCTION If left untreated, severe combined immunodeficiency can lead to an acute susceptibility to infection. The intrauterine environment is sterile until the amniotic membranes rupture. The vaginal flora then ascends into the genital tract, thus increasing the risk of chorioamnionitis. An extremely premature and prolonged membrane rupture is associated with a dismal prognosis for an immu...
متن کاملNeurodevelopmental outcomes of preterm infants.
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Preterm birth is emerging as a major public health problem in the USA. Improvements in preterm birth and survival rates translate to increasing numbers of preterm survivors, and many develop motor, cognitive and sensory impairments. RECENT FINDINGS The review discusses the recently reported prevalence of neurodevelopmental disabilities in preterm survivors, in addition to st...
متن کاملEmotional reactivity at 12 months in very preterm infants born at <29 weeks of gestation.
The present study evaluated the socio-emotional development of very preterm born infants at 12 months corrected age. Forty-one infants born very preterm (<29 weeks of gestation) were compared to 22 infants born full term on a standardized behavioral assessment and a parental temperament questionnaire, both measuring emotional reactivity to joy, anger and fear, as well as sustained attention. Th...
